Chapter Fourteen
Kimberly drew close to some of the people who were in the cage with her. âHey, Iâm Kimberly,â she whispered. âWhatâs your name?â They stared in silence with a confused look on their faces. They whispered something between themselves. Kimberly could hear it well enough to realize that they were not speaking English. âI see,â Kimberly said. âYou donât speak English.â
Kimberly sat down in the darkness. Queen Death had walked away. The dim light was gone. Therefore, it was completely dark again; she couldnât see her hands in front of her face.
Kimberly was now left to dwell in the darkness of her mind. All of her thoughts came flooding her head like a waterfall dumps water in the river below it. For example, she considered the fact that the spiders and Queen Death spoke her language. The people in the cage made it all the more obvious to her that it should not be expected to find extraterrestrials that speak her language.
The aliens in the spaceship were different because they were speaking telepathically; they didnât need to know her language. The only explanation that she could think of was that Queen Death had some sort of magical powers.
With this in mind, Kimberly considered the fact that Queen Death was manipulating the spiders. Maybe, they werenât magical powers. Perhaps, they were psychic powers. Did this mean that Queen Death could manipulate her psychologically? Is this why she felt the impulse to hurt the alien back on the spaceship?
She considered all of this and much more. She sat there in darkness not knowing if one hour had passed, or if several days had passed. She knew that she had fallen asleep a couple of times, but she didnât know how long she had slept. She could smell the stench of rotting bodies. She could hear the whispers of the people in the cage that spoke a foreign language.
Suddenly, a dim light was lit. There were ten orange men that looked identical to the muscular man that had put her in the cage. The one in front had a torch in his hand. They came to the cage and opened the door. They grunted something in an unknown language while motioning with their hands. It seemed that they wanted them to leave the cage. Multiple people had already stood up and were leaving. Kimberly stood up and began following them.
This is when Kimberly realized that those who were in the cage with her were not human at all. They only looked similar to humans. She was able to see that their noses were like little stubs. She could also see that they didnât have ears in the same way that humans have ears; there were simply two little holes, one on each side of their faces. Their eyes were similar to catsâ eyes. As far as their physical appearance, Kimberly couldnât detect any more differences with humans.
As they walked, other groups were brought from other cages. Most of them were the same alien race that had been in the cage with Kimberly.
